In addition to writing original content for this site, one of the things I hope to do is to re-share material from around the web. So, from time to time, I’ll share articles here that I feel provide insight into the writing process. The first of these articles is below.
Gregory Lynn is a freelance editor and an author. If you’ll forgive the understatement, Greg is a fan of Joss Whedon. He watches all of Whedon’s shows compulsively, has three tattoos based off of Whedon properties, and several restraining orders. He has channeled this obsession into a series of posts wherein he examines the shows and movies to try to grasp every possible insight into Joss’s writing process.
This is actually the second post in his series. The first post is located here.
Have you learned anything from watching a TV show or a movie? If so, share it with us in the comments.
Really interesting GregLynn9418. I’m a fan of Whedon myself and have taken many of these things on myself for my writing. He isn’t the greatest writer ever, but he is smart and knows how to engage you. That is why shows like FireFly, Buffy, Angel and even Dollhouse has the following it does.
Thanks for sharing the posts with us John.
It’s really just the two restraining orders. I was able to buy Topher off with the memory of, well, I can’t say, really, for legal reasons.
