Hey everybody! No live show this week because Darren wasn’t willing to make a small sacrifice and broadcast in the middle of the night. (kidding) Michelle conducted an excellent interview that you all should listen to. Leave questions here in the comments and Darren will answer. (I love speaking for our guests) We will be back next week with a live broadcast. Enjoy!!

I’ll check this out later. Darren is a great guy. He jumped on a Skype call with me months ago just to show me his mic and camera so I could make the right buying decision for my own equipment. I still remember that kindness and the fun chat we had afterwards.

When he said he mentioned the manuscript search for the word “almost” I had to smile. My list of words to check for is a page and a half long. Some are to make sure they’re not overused throughout (“looked” or “sighed” or “paused”), some to make sure aren’t used too closely together (“moved” or “glanced” or “seem”/”seemed”Β and describing what people’s “eyes” are doing) and other words that are just so weak (“very” is a word that I can usually get rid of 95% of the time, leaving only those “very”s in dialogue — as well as “just” and “probably” and those “thought”-verbs that are so tempting when figuring out mysteries). I keep adding to it, so my editing will just take longer and longer as I go on.

A page and a half! Wonderfully thorough. (<– hope thorough isn’t on the list.)
