Geekwalker!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTWz52h91MM
Carl Sinclair It’s been banned in 23 countries already!
BatmanErica Trish McCallan writerwade Should we be worried about what has become of your husband? Your comment sounds ominous.
Demelza Carlton Trish McCallan writerwade according to Carl’s kids everything from NZ tastes better, so hopefully they are NZ made perky nanas 🙂
jlward Carl Sinclair But my UK sales are blowing up!
Good evening all.
Yeeah?
Carl Sinclair the animals in your country make strange sounds
Hello mother fuckers 😉
I mean, good evnin’ ladies and gents
Does anyone else watch Geekwalker and pray the whole time that Carl trips?
Good evening.
BatmanErica Demelza CarltonTrish McCallanwriterwade They probably are NZ ones…but I admit I didn’t check.

JayChastain Chastain…
Carl Sinclair where’s the next one?
We love you Dave!
I’m here in the comments to keep things rolling #trollster
Off to a rousing start. As always.
jlward Trish McCallan writerwade he decided to go to work today, even though we only came home from Australia yesterday. I suppose he figured sleeping all day Thursday and Thursday night was enough. Guess his work really needed him.
I’ve read some of the other stuff 🙂
Hmm. I’ve got a dragon on mine. Still waiting!
Darren Wearmouth you’re drunk
Darren Wearmouth G’morning 😀
PatrickStemp Hi, Patrick.
Carl Sinclair Let’s talk beans on toast.
Present
I’m working on fan art for Dave right now.
sorry I’m late
sup people
nicholaskahler I know I do.
nicholaskahler Yes.
Carl Sinclair JayChastain Wassup mofo.
Carl Sinclair Naked penis art isn’t “Fan art”
ArcherCaldwell Hey, Archer.
I read this one cause I heard her on a podcast mention a decapitated chicken 😛 http://www.amazon.com/Wounded-Lindsay-Buroker-ebook/dp/B00I6M9EXS
I do fan art of food and various alcoholic beverages
Darren Wearmouth Carl Sinclair What’s your favorite addition. Mine is egg on top. I think you’re partial to cheese? Have you tried adding bacon or sausages?
Darren Wearmouth Carl SinclairForeigners
JayChastain Darren Wearmouth I’m on the runway. You are.
ArcherCaldwell Hey Archer
Carl Sinclair fan art FOR Dave or fan art OF Dave?
And I enjoyed this sub series that starts with this one http://www.amazon.com/Encrypted-Lindsay-Buroker-ebook/dp/B004IZLFO8
Just me or are comments not loading very fast tonight?
Question to everyone here. How much do you charge? Include genre, word count and price.
RolandDenzel Hi, Roland!
BatmanErica Thanks, Erica!
ArcherCaldwell the sky. Carl Sinclair’s beard…
Darren Wearmouth Hi, Darren. How’s the Queen?
Does her cover designer take commissions from new clients?
Carl Sinclair i’m a dumbass. snarky comment located in wrong trollster post below
thedavidwwright Darren Wearmouth She tweeted me, asking if she could have a fight with your old man. There’s a medal in it for me if I can arrange. I won’t tell you what she called Betty White.
Carl Sinclair yes. Glendon Perkins Streetlight Graphics http://streetlightgraphics.com/
Darren Wearmouth Carl Sinclair I found it really amusing how KFC in England has baked beans. Over here we have potato and gravy.
Carl Sinclair Darren Wearmouth I like beans on white buttered toast, with grated cheese on top. Goes great with a cup of tea.
BatmanErica Darren Wearmouth Carl Sinclair We have spud and gravy too, or just gravy to dip in the chips/fries/whatever.
BatmanErica $0.99 for 15k-20k fantasy novellas. But I don’t have an established audience
When you move an email from another tab to Primary you also have to click yes when it asks you if you want to do that from future emails from the same box. An extra step some folks may not even notice when they do it 🙁
Why is Carl behind the iron curtain tonight?
PatrickStemp I just had to reload the browser because comments weren’t loading
RolandDenzel PatrickStemp Same here
Any questions for Lindsay?
RolandDenzel PatrickStemp Yeah I reloaded a few times and they’re finally working again.
JayChastain Storms. Power & Net has been up and down.
thedavidwwright A lot of epic (or high) fantasy in recent years has gone darker and grittier (Sanderson, Martin, Weeks, Rothfuss for example)
Are your fantasy books lighter in content, violence etc or are they following the overall trend from the traditional counterparts?
PatrickStemp RolandDenzel ditto. Thought it was slow loading as opposed to you lot being quiet 😛
JayChastain would the medium you use be instagram by chance? 😛
thedavidwwright What challenges has Lindsay found writing different sub genres of fantasy? Has she ever considered writing a dark fantasy in the likes of Clive Barker?
JayChastain thedavidwwright Was going to ask about urban fantasy but she just talked about it.
Does Lindsay use Goodreads to interact with fans at all? Does she get much engagement there?
Darren Wearmouth Carl Sinclair Hubby likes the baked beans they make at our fave cafe. They include bacon bits and it’s quite spicy. Served with ciabatta and real butter 😀
thedavidwwright Has Lindsay received any traditional offers, and does she have specific criteria to sell? Also, I’d like to know if she thinks the small press offer any value to an experienced indie.
thedavidwwright How much world building does Lindsay do before starting each book or series?
BatmanErica Darren Wearmouth Carl Sinclair That sounds great. I liked the tins of baked beans with little sausages in.
Carl’s thunderstorm has missed me completely – must be only over his half of the city. 😀
Demelza Carlton we left just in time 😛
Greetings all!
Demelza Carlton Storm was over the last two nights. It’s fine now. Internet still down though. Power is up at least.
BuddyGott Hey Buddy
PatrickStemp BuddyGott Hey Patrick
thedavidwwright Should have sent to you in the first place so it wouldn’t get lost in comment hell…
Does Lindsay use Goodreads to interact with fans at all? Does she get much engagement there?
BuddyGott Alright chief.
Darren Wearmouth BatmanErica Carl Sinclair Watties baked beans and sausages are top draw.
Those do sound good though. I do like the gravy from KFC in England without the spud in it. I do love Spud and Gravy from KFC though. Chips go in it. Chips on Potato is pretty amazing.
BuddyGott Silver Fox, how are you?
Carl Sinclair BuddyGott Good, thanks. How’s The Bearded Beauty?
Darren Wearmouth BuddyGott My Buddy!
BuddyGott Carl Sinclair Working on a spin-off at the moment. It’s called Taching, based around the moustache. The other thing is a free webinar called “The Beard Builder” which will be coming in 2014.
Carl Sinclair Darren Wearmouth you can get both potato with gravy or without in NZ. Another reason to move? 😛
I like that. I do tend to worldbuild heavily but I like to discovery write my characters. Just like my hero Brandon Sanderson.
Carl Sinclair BuddyGott Sounds fascinating
BatmanErica Carl Sinclair Darren Wearmouth Now I want KFC. FML.
BuddyGott Carl Sinclair Step by Step guide on how to get critical mass on your beard.
Carl Sinclair I find I get lost in the world building sometimes. I mean, it’s a whole big world. Easy to get lost.
PatrickStemp Carl Sinclair Worldbuilders disease. I have it pretty bad.
Carl Sinclair Darren Wearmouth They don’t deliver 😛 I’m pondering ordering pizza for a late lunch and eating it while on the after party. What do you think?
BatmanErica Carl Sinclair Darren Wearmouth Look what I had the other day. Saves on grating, but not as nice. http://www.heinz.co.uk/en/Products/Beans/Ranges/Flavoured-Beanz/Heinz-Cheddar-Cheese-Beanz
BuddyGott yo
Darren Wearmouth BatmanErica Carl Sinclair I’d be in for some of those.
Carl Sinclair PatrickStemp would that be a subconscious form of procrastination?
Carl Sinclair BuddyGott I’ m doing a similar thing centering around silver beards. Will give you a free copy in 5-10 years.
BatmanErica Carl Sinclair Darren Wearmouth I could get to KFC and back before the end of the show…
Carl Sinclair PatrickStemp The problem with my fantasy is that I’m too vague on a lot, so by the end of it, I have a bunch of unclear ideas and it ruins the experience… just not ready to seriously put one out yet
JayChastain Carl Sinclair PatrickStemp go back in the second draft with more detail?
JayChastain Carl Sinclair PatrickStemp That’s why I heavily outline my plot and setting. I like to discovery write the characters to give them a more realistic response. They kind of reacting to this maze they’ve been put in and do their own thing.
Fantasy authors FTW!
BatmanErica Carl Sinclair PatrickStemp Absolutely, at some point you’re just avoiding moving on. But even if the “world” is just a small town there can be a lot of building to do (especially if you’re S. King).
BuddyGott Carl Sinclair Thankfully my beard is already turning silver. I’m excited about it.
PatrickStemp Carl Sinclair S. King tends to use the same small town 😛
BatmanErica JayChastain Carl Sinclair PatrickStemp It’s also not my forte, which makes the work more than what I can successfully do with any speed right now. I have a bunch of ideas/drafts I work on from time to time as I flesh stuff out.
Carl Sinclair JayChastain PatrickStemp My philosophy is “Hate your characters enough to do horrible things to them. Love them enough that they MIGHT just make it out alive.”
PatrickStemp Carl Sinclair JayChastain Valor Morghulis – all men must die.
What’s Linday’s process for audio? Does she pick an artist and go for a royalty split or one-off payment? Also, does she see a big advantage in creating an audio book quickly off the back of a kindle release.
Darren Wearmouth Carl Sinclair I sometimes have the tinned spaghetti (same sauce) when forced to. But I have to add grated cheese to take off the sweetness of the sauce >.<
Does Lindsay watch Game of Thrones?
What kind of pressures (if any) does Lindsay feel while writing her bigger series? Does it ever hurt her writing flow knowing her fans are so passionate?
Carl Sinclair PatrickStemp JayChastain Long live women!
JayChastain Good question.
Carl Sinclair As greasy as Joffrey’s hair.
Darren Wearmouth Carl Sinclair How great was that line from the Hound? “His hair is probably greasier than Joffrey’s c***”
BatmanErica Darren Wearmouth Carl Sinclair Totally get that. If I have it, I usually go for the alphabet type, and push the letters around in the sauce to spell out rude words.
Darren Wearmouth Carl Sinclair playing with your food
Carl Sinclair Darren Wearmouth Very good. I played it a few times.
BatmanErica Darren Wearmouth Carl Sinclair Before planting my face in the plate and eating like a pig.
Darren Wearmouth BatmanErica Carl Sinclair I was a big fan of spag hoops when living in the UK. Could get a tin of them from Aldi for 2p. That’s a bloody bargain for a poor student looking to buy more booze. I followed it up with 2p tin of rice pudding for desert.
Carl Sinclair PatrickStemp An extra bonus to all that world building though may be discovery of new stories to write in that world later. Worth it!
PatrickStemp Carl Sinclair I agree. I do have a bible for one epic fantasy series and for the UF series known as Pandora’s Gate.
Carl Sinclair Darren Wearmouth BatmanErica I lived of spag hoops as a kid. It was that or crinkle cut chips in the deep fat fryer.
PatrickStemp Carl Sinclair I want to get access to Sanderson’s private wiki for the Cosmere more than anything. I would never leave that site.
Darren Wearmouth Carl Sinclair BatmanErica I live on that now.
Is there any particular kind of writer/person that you would advise NOT to self publish?
Howdy all
David Anson Greetings, Mr. Anson.
BuddyGott David AnsonHi Buddy
In the best news you’ve heard all day… my wifi is up.
I stay LUBRICATED
Carl Sinclair AFTER PARTTTYYYYY
Loving the show tonight. The hosts have been asking awesome questions.
We’ve seen quite a bit of traffic from when you posted a link to our keywords show.
Is anyone else imagining penguins having sex now??? Thanks, Dave.
BuddyGott You’re welcome, Buddy. Sweet dreams.
BuddyGott I’m not imagining, I’m searching on youtube.
Darren Wearmouth BuddyGott Yeah google search underway.
Darren Wearmouth BuddyGott This will be the third night this week where I’ve had dreams like that. The dream with otters was sort of disturbing. Hot, but somewhat disturbing.
BuddyGott Darren Wearmouth 🙂
BuddyGott PatrickStemp Picked up the Logitech h390 today. We’ll have to hangout soon.
PatrickStemp BuddyGott Awesome!
I’ve ordered pizza for the after party!
BuddyGott Darren Wearmouth wet penguin dreams.
BatmanErica I’ll have beans on toast during the interlude.
BuddyGott Um…no. I’ve seen it live and I’d like to forget it.
Demelza Carlton BuddyGott That’s quite exotic. I’ve only seen a dog on an owners leg, and possibly a couple of fish but I wasn’t sure.
Darren Wearmouth BatmanErica I’m going to have either beans on toast or KFC.
BuddyGott PatrickStemp The package says “easy open” but I’m about to get murdery.
Carl Sinclair Darren Wearmouth BatmanErica I’ve been told I have to eat more fruit, and get into this ‘five a day’ bullshit 🙁
If you want to be in the afterparty, leave a comment here.
Darren Wearmouth Demelza CarltonBuddyGott They even inspired a couple of seagulls to do the same…explaining to my daughter what they were doing was fun.
jlward Yes, please
Darren Wearmouth Carl Sinclair BatmanErica from who? Apple pies are fruit.
jlward Yeah my wifi and internet are up.
jlward me please!
Who let the dogs out?
jlward I won’t be able to make this one. Have fun, folks!
Carl Sinclair Darren Wearmouth BatmanErica I’m going for ketchup, cherryade, fries, cider and salad in a kebab. That should cover it.
BatmanErica jlward what is your e-mail address?
Darren Wearmouth Carl Sinclair BatmanErica cherryade is fruit too. Cherries are fruit.
Darren Wearmouth Carl Sinclair BatmanErica cider with apples in it. You just have to be clever.
jlward I’d like to join!
jlward Please.
jlward rdenzel@gmail.com
jlward BatmanErica She’s linked to the SPRT account. You can just invite directly.
BuddyGott jlward nooooooooo….
AFTER PARTY ME! (putting my kid to sleep but I’ll be there in a minute or two)
Carl Sinclair Darren Wearmouth BatmanErica A Hawaiian pizza, job done.
Carl Sinclair Darren Wearmouth BatmanErica beans and toast is kinda the opposite of bacon wrapped meatloaf. What are you guys thinking?
RolandDenzel Carl Sinclair Darren Wearmouth mmm…cow wrapped in pig >.<
